Covering the nation’s largest and elegant campus and encompassing the most diversified ecological environment, College of Agriculture, NPUST has been known as one of the nation’s best site for cultivating high agro-tech talents. College of Engineering
The National Pingtung University of Science and Technology is one of the most prestigious institutions of higher education in the southern part of Taiwan. Its antecedent was the National Pingtung Institute of Agriculture serving its primary goal in training and educating professional labors for various domestic agriculture-related sectors. It also aimed to assist the government in promoting national agronomic policies, developing agribusinesses, and engaging in research activities that developed and improved other agriculture-related areas. With these goals to fulfill, the institute established departments and programs that were connected to agriculture. In 1991, the institute was named the National Pingtung Polytechnic Institute in accordance with national need and industrial advancement. Several engineering departments were thereafter established. Under six years of promising progress, the institution was upgraded to the university level and the change of its name to the present one was approved. This name was used since then. Established in August 1997, College of Management currently includes Department of Agribusiness Management, Department of Business Administration, Department of Industrial Management, Department of Management Information Systems, Department of Rural Planning and Landscaping, Department of Hotel and Restaurant Management and Department of Apparel. In 2004, Master programs are available in the fields of Agribusiness Management, Industrial Management, Management Information Systems, Finance, Rural Planning and Landscoping and Business Administration.
