NPUST obtained the subsidy from the Ministry of Education subsidies to build up a working dog training school and the inauguration ceremony of it was held at 9 A.M. on July 24th.

The Technological and Vocational Education Department under the Ministry of Education chose NPUST as a foundation to start the education and cultivation of trainers and instructors for working dogs. Training guide dogs is the prime goal of all other tasks at the school. Since 2007, the construction of kennels for guide dogs had been in process. After completed, the facilities for dogs include 15 pieces of kennels, bathing rooms, feed storages and food
preparation rooms, etc. An outdoor field is constructed as well for training purpose and for visitors to interact with dogs.

The kennels for guide dogs in the training school are completed and will fulfill the needs of the upcoming training programs and other research plans. The plan pioneers in setting up not only the first special kennels for guide dogs in Taiwan, but also the first working dog training school run in a university in the whole world.
