The opening ceremony of the
Asia-Pacific Agriculture Research Center started at 10 A.M. on July 24th at
NPUST.
Locating in the zone between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn,
the area where NPUST situates enjoys a subtropical climate. Among the research
entities in those big agricultural states which have dedicated mainly in
agriculture development, NPUST earns an irreplaceable position and has advantage
on agricultural development. Taking account of the goal of the
national integral development of agriculture as well as the distinction of the
tropical zone, the Center operates primly to create non-substituent and
high-value agricultural product. Furthermore, NPUST collaborates with the
research organizations in Asia Pacific zone and in the adjoining areas to
integrate the research resources, and elaborates the university and industry
liaison system with those state-level agricultural biotechnology parks in its
neighborhood in order to conduct the researches of the frontiers and the
university and industry service.
The establishment of the Center sets up a mile-stone in our domestic research on
tropical agriculture; moreover, it will bring more novel directions concerning
tropical agriculture study for both teachers and students.
