National Pingtung University of Science and Technology (NPUST) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for the 2026 New Southbound Policy Elite Study Program, sponsored by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Taiwan. The program aims to strengthen academic exchange and cultivate future talents from New Southbound Policy partner countries through immersive study and cultural experiences in Taiwan.

The application deadline is June 21, 2026, and the program will be held from September 7, 2026 to January 8, 2027, offering participants a unique opportunity to study at one of Taiwan’s leading universities in agriculture and sustainability.

This program is open to sophomore and above undergraduate students, as well as master’s students, from universities in New Southbound Policy countries who are interested in pursuing a semester of academic and cultural learning in Taiwan. Participants are required to complete at least 12 credits in agricultural-related courses, along with comprehensive Chinese language training designed to enhance both academic and daily communication skills.

NPUST is internationally recognized for its strengths in agriculture, animal science, fisheries, and environmental sustainability, providing students with both theoretical knowledge and hands-on learning experiences. In addition to academic coursework, the program also features monthly off-campus visits, allowing participants to explore Taiwan’s diverse culture, industries, and local communities.

To support students throughout their stay, NPUST offers a comprehensive package including:

Round-trip economy class airfare subsidy (up to NTD 20,000)

Full tuition waiver (including Chinese language courses)

Monthly scholarship of NTD 8,000

On-campus dormitory accommodation

Medical insurance coverage

Organized cultural and educational field visits

Through this program, students will not only gain professional knowledge but also develop cross-cultural understanding and build lasting international connections.
